The mosaic you will create at home is inspired by a refined decorative detail from the Roman Villa Punta San Limato, located in Baia Felice, Cellole.

The original work, created in black and white, depicts an elegant and dynamic marine scene, populated by dolphins, fish, a dragon, and other aquatic creatures. A rich and symbolic visual language that reflects the extraordinary artistic sensitivity of Roman mosaic art.

This mosaic dates back to the first half of the 2nd century AD and demonstrates the perfect balance between figurative narrative and technical rigor, typical of Roman tradition.

A structured and accessible process

The course is designed to be clear and progressive, even for those new to this technique.

Through the included instructions and reference prints, you will learn to:

• read the preparatory drawing
• cut and shape the tesserae
• understand the construction of shapes
• correctly apply adhesives and materials
• perform the grouting and finishing phase
